Through its Publications Sales Program GPO sells selected Government print and electronic publications to the public. If we sell your products, you can decrease your printing, marketing, and distribution costs by referring the public to GPO. The publications we sell are increasingly available for sale through commercial sales channels, including chain and online bookstores and major book wholesalers.

• We welcome agency recommendations as to how we can best market your print and electronic products.
• We provide promotional support for the products we sell through our own efforts and in partnership with agency publishers. Support may include special Web pages on our Online Bookstore site, direct mail flyers, product notices to the media, advance sales to bulk purchasers, e-mail notifications to customers interested in a particular subject area, and sharing booths at conferences.
• GPO will work with you to add an ISBN, bar code, and BISAC publication headings to the back covers of your publications to maximize distribution of your publications by major book wholesalers and retailers nationwide. These additions are vital to the commercial marketplace. We can also feed ONIX data in electronic format to the book trade.
• Through the use of Print-on-Demand technology, your publications will remain permanently available for sale to the public in perpetuity. As a bonus, once we have a digital file for our growing Print-on-Demand service, you can also use the same file for your own just-in-time print runs, spreading out your costs and improving your cash flow.

In addition to promoting their availability through other channels, GPO sells Government print and electronic publications to the public through U.S. Government Online Bookstore (http://bookstore.gpo.gov). The public can use the Bookstore to locate and securely order a wide range of publications, including books, maps, serials, videos, CD-ROMs, and subscriptions.

Agency Distribution Services
GPO provides Federal agencies with a variety of cost-effective reimbursable distribution services. Whether it's a large, one-time mailing, recurring shipments, long-term storage of publications or materials, or hosting your Web site, GPO provides quick, efficient, and reasonably priced services. For example, GPO's Public Documents Distribution Center in Pueblo, CO, provides high-volume state-of-the-art distribution services to the General Services Administration's Federal Citizens Information Center. GPO also handles by-law distribution made under specific provisions of law requiring distribution of publications free of charge to the recipient and the publishing agency.
