AFC 1958/002: Dunstan K. Nsubuga Singing Native Songs of Uganda
One 10-inch tape of native songs of Uganda sung by Reverend and Mrs. Dunstan K. Nsubuga. Recorded at the Library of Congress ca. 1950s. The collection includes a log. (AFS 11327; LWO 2653)
AFS 11,883: Henry Serukenya / African Songs Recorded in Kampala
One 7-inch tape of Ugandan choral songs recorded by Henry Serunkenya, in Kampala, Uganda, ca. 1950s. Choral songs, called "Serunambi," composed by Serukenya. The collection includes a log with song titles and descriptions. (LWO 3259)
AFC 1970/022: Caldwell P. Smith Recordings of Ugandan Lango Music
One 10-inch tape of field recordings of Lango percussion reed music, drum music, flute music, dancing, women's drumming and dancing, and Lango songs. Recorded in Lango District, Uganda, by Caldwell P. Smith on May 27-28, 1954. The collection includes 10 pages of typed descriptive notes and brief translations of the titles by Caldwell P. Smith, plus correspondence of Smith with staff at the Library of Congress, 1953-1955. (1 hour; AFS 14,109; LWO 2186 pres dupe)
AFC 1973/028: Laura Boulton Collection
One thousand one hundred sixty-six 10 inch discs, 18 14-inch discs, one 3-inch tape, 2 5- inch tapes, and 344 7 inch tapes of music recorded in Angola, The Bahamas, Canada, The Congo, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Jamaica, Japan, Martinique, Mexico, Native American Music, Nyasaland, Peru Polynesia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, and the USA by Laura Boulton, Walter Garwick, George Hibbit, Bascom Lamar Lunsford, and Charles F. Lummis, ca. 1904-1961. The collection includes 12 linear inches of logs, correspondence, and notes.
AFS 16,845-16,957: Laura Boulton Collection Part 14: Miscellaneous speech samples and narratives. Many discs were dubbed from commercial recordings. Areas represented are Africa (Sierre Leone, Uganda), North American Indian (Chilcat, Dakota [Sioux], Karok, Nez Perce, Onandaga, Oneida, Tlingit, and Tsimshian).
