Digitization Services Branch
The mission statement of the Digitization Services Branch at the National Archives and Records Administration is “to provide agency-wide laboratory services and technical expertise in order to facilitate preservation and access to the content of Federal Records in the custody of NARA.”
The branch is currently comprised of four reformatting labs plus a development team which supports the work of the branch. The links below navigate to more information about each reformatting lab. While each lab has a specific focus, there is a high degree of collaboration across the branch. The branch concentrates on analog-to-digital reformatting but there is a continued need for analog-to-analog reformatting workflows for specific formats.
