We often hear it, but how true is the phrase 'Money can't buy happiness'? Is there a correlation between the two, and if so, what can we learn from it? It turns out, if you think money and happiness are exclusive, you simply aren't spending it right.

Assuming you mean physical addiction: It's when you put too much of a chemical into your body. You body then slows down production of that chemical to compensate. Then, to get the same high, you'd need to have that much chemical + what your body is no longer producing. This makes your body produce even less.

This continues until you quit, are completely physically dependant (your body isn't making enough chemicals anymore)...or you die.

Imagine a world where people only spent money on others. That way, someone would always be spending money on you. Of course, you would invest in those "daily joys," but if all this so true, you'd be happier buying an iPhone for someone else than for yourself.

Your brain finds pleasure in things like drugs and gambling because of the feel good chemical dopamine that is released in the body. This is a reward to the brain because it feels good. Your brain is gunna want to continue getting that same reward because of dopamine. The more you do drugs or gambling, the more your brain is going to want that feel good feel..
