The Web-based software application that drives the Chronicling America Web site is published as open-source software code by the Library of Congress as the LC Newspaper Viewer. This software, using Apache, Django Web Framework for Python, MySQL and SOLR/Lucene, is available for use with digital objects modeled according to the NDNP technical guidelines.
