Danny Kaye (1913-1987), comedian, actor, singer and dancer, starred in seventeen movies including the 1952 Hans Christian Andersen. The movie is about the Danish author, whose fairy tales have been translated into more than 80 languages and have inspired plays, ballets, films, and works of sculpture and painting. Composer and lyricist Frank Loesser, wrote songs for more than sixty films including Hans as well as five Broadway musicals including Guys and Dolls in 1950.
