Panoramic Photograph Filing Series
Rights and Restrictions Information
Prints and Photographs Division, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., 20540-4730
There are no known restrictions on publication/distribution of most images in the Panoramic Photographs Filing Series, but certain items are made available online by the Library of Congress with the permission of the copyright owners.
Access: Restricted. Digital images are available in the Prints & Photographs Online Catalog. Panoramic photographs require special handling due to their age and size. As a preservation measure, the digital images are used in preference to serving the originals.
Reproduction (photocopying, hand-held camera copying,
photoduplication and other forms of copying allowed by "fair
use"): Digital images are available. It is possible to request quality copies (often of segments of the panoramic photograph) through the Library's Duplication Services.
Publication and other forms of distribution: The vast majority of panoramic photographs have no known restrictions on publication/distribution because they were copyrighted or published prior to 1923. Certain items are made available online by the Library of Congress with the permission of the copyright owners. Users should consult the catalog information that accompanies each item for specific information.
