VHP Becomes New Home of 95th Bomb Group’s Oral History Collection

The Veterans History Project is very pleased to be the recipient of the 95th Bomb Group’s oral history collection. The donation will be made in connection with the Group’s 2004 reunion in the Washington, D.C. area. Presiding will be Mr. William “Dub” Vandegriff, President, 95th Bomb Group Association and Mr. Gerald Grove, President, 95th Bomb Group Foundation.

The 95th Heavy Bomber Group was located at Horham air base in England. During World War II, the Group’s primary purpose was to operate B-17 Flying Fortress Heavy Bombers. More information about the 95th Bomb Group is available at http://www.95thbg.org/.

The 150 stories of the 95th Bomb Group members will be processed at the Veterans History Project, the names of the interviewees and their Group will be made available on VHP’s Web site, and the materials will be stored at the Library of Congress, accessible for family members and researchers to study. We thank Margaret Blagg and Nancy Smith for contacting the Veterans History Project and for preparing the treasured collection for an “orderly transfer” to VHP.
