AFC 1976/014: Jack Manischewitz Duplication Project
Six 10-inch tapes of Yiddish, international, and urban children's folksongs recorded in Cincinnati, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; New York City; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; West Orange, New Jersey; and elsewhere by Jack Manischewitz, 1957-61. The collection includes 32 pages of notes.

AFS 19,161-19,178: Jonas Balys / Lithuanian American Recordings
Eighteen 10-inch tapes of Lithuanian folk songs recorded in Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin by Jonas Balys, 1949-50. (Portions of this collection are also contained on AFS 10,751, 10, 805, and 10,873-10,874). The collection includes five linear inches of manuscripts containing an alphabetic index of songs, copies of six diaries of field expeditions, and photocopies of original tape boxes having supplementary information.

AFC 1981/018: Ethnic Broadcasting in America Collection
Eighteen 7-inch tapes, 2 5-inch tapes, and 117 cassettes of ethnic radio broadcasts recorded for the Ethnic Broadcasting in America Project of the American Folklife Center. Recorded mostly off the air by Elena Bradunas, Theodore Grame, Alan Jabbour, and others at various locations in the United States, 1977-78. Documentation includes Theodore Grame's Ethnic Broadcasting in the United States (Washington, D.C.: American Folklife Center, 1980), .75 linear inch of correspondence, 5.25 linear inches of manuscript materials, and 3.5 linear inches of tape logs.

AFC 1991/023: Pinelands Folklife Project Collection
Two hundred forty-one 7-inch tapes, six 5-inch tapes, one hundred nineteen cassettes, twelve linear feet of ephemera, field notes, photograph contact sheets, and photograph and sound recording documentation from the Pinelands Folklife Project, a field project documenting traditional culture within and around the Pinelands Folklife Reserve, to facilitate land-use planning in the Pinelands and along the coast, and to develop products to assist in public education about the relationship between the region and its cultural resources. Documented at various locations in New Jersey by Bonnie Blair, Tom Carroll, Christine Cartwright, Carl Fleischhauer, Mary Hufford, Eugene Hunn, Jens Lund, Rita Moonsammy, Malachi O'Connor, Gerald E. Parsons, Nora Rubenstein, Sue Samuelson, and Elaine Thatcher, August 15, 1983-March 31, 1984. AFC 1993/001: Ethnic Heritage and Language Schools in America Project Collection Twenty-four 5-inch tapes, 60 7-inch tapes, and 288 cassettes, and 14 and 2/3 linear feet of correspondence, fieldnotes, final reports, key contributor forms, news clippings, publications, references to curriculum materials, references to donated photographs, photo and slide logs, sound recording logs, and transcripts of audio recordings from the Ethnic Heritage and Language Schools in America Project, a survey of 23 ethnic schools from 22 ethnic groups. Recorded at various locations throughout the United States by Elena Bradunas and 23 fieldworkers, April-July 1982, sponsored by the American Folklife Center. AFC 1995/028: Working in Paterson Project Collection
Eighty-seven cassette and digital audio tapes, 6192 still photographs (color and black-and-white), 690 audiotape and photograph catalogs, and 314 pages of fieldnotes, in addition to administrative correspondence, maps, publications, and ephemera from the Working in Paterson Folklife Project of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. The 4-month study of occupational culture in Paterson, New Jersey, was conducted in 1994. Paterson became the largest silk manufacturing center in the United States as well as a manufacturer of many other products, from railroad locomotives to firearms. This collection also includes materials about the African American community, a distinctive food tradition (the Hot Texas Wiener), the ethnography of Watson Machine International, business life along 21st Avenue in Paterson, and narratives told by retired workers. AFC 2000/001: Local Legacies Collection
Four hundred and five linear feet (approximately 90,000 manuscript pages, 475 sound recordings, 13,270 graphic materials, 335 electronic media, and 75 artifacts) of documentation of local festivals, fairs, parades, and other community-based events from each U.S. state, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories and trusts. The Local Legacies Collection was donated through the efforts of individuals, organizations, and institutions asked to participate by members of Congress. AFC 2001/015: September 11, 2001, Documentary Project Collection
The collection documents reactions of ordinary citizens in the immediate aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States through sound and video recordings of interviews and personal narratives; as well as photographs, children's drawings, two scrapbooks, letters and e-mail, poems, ephemera, and a few artifacts. Some items were submitted as group projects of schools, libraries, and museums from 30 states in the U.S., and from American military service personnel and their families in Naples, Italy. AFC 2001/015: SR069: One compact disc of interviews with high school students from the Hoboken Charter School, Hoboken, New Jersey. Stories were shared with their "sister school," the September School located in Boulder, Colorado. Recorded November 26, 2001, and February 14, 2002.

AFC 2004/008: Herbert Halpert Collection
Sound recordings, correspondence, indexes, manuscripts, research notes, photographs and photographic negatives, newspaper clippings, student papers, ephemera and other materials primarily representing the documentation and analysis of the folklore of regions of New York, New Jersey, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Alaska by folklorist Herbert Halpert. The collection occupies approx. 50 linear feet.
