"Right Now... What Johnny is Doing"

Fiscal Cliff Agreement- "This 11th-hour negotiation is no way to run a country, but I voted for this agreement because it protects 99 percent of Americans from a tax increase, permanently protects tens of thousands of farmers and family businesses from having to pay the estate tax upon the death of a loved one, and permanently fixes the alternative minimum tax to protect some 30 million households a year from having to pay it. I am also pleased that this agreement reinstates the pay freeze for members of Congress. Now, it is time for the president to get serious about spending cuts and entitlement reforms, and I look forward to enacting significant measures in the coming weeks that will reduce our debt." -- U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson

“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” – On Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, Johnny appeared on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” on ABC to discuss national security, the fiscal cliff and the Newtown, Conn., school shootings. watch the appearance

Benghazi Investigation - The report from the Accountability Review Board was released last week and it showed a failure in the chain of command at the State Department and that the Department failed in its duty to protect our ambassador and Americans serving in Benghazi. Johnny appeared on CNN on Dec. 20, 2012, about the report’s findings.

Isakson Statement on the Passing of Sen. Inouye
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend and colleague, Daniel Inouye. The people of Hawaii and our nation have lost a war hero and public servant who served our country though many important events in our history. Few have contributed more to our country than Daniel Inouye. He was a great American who will be sorely missed. I send my condolences to his wife, Irene, his son, Daniel, and his entire family.” read the story
