Class III - Senators Whose Terms of Service Expire in 2017

Class III terms run from the beginning of the 112th Congress on January 3, 2011, to the end of the 114th Congress on January 3, 2017. Senators in Class III were elected to office in the November 2010 general election, unless they took their seat through appointment or special election.

Amendment XVII (1913) provides for direct election of Senators.

 
  

Class I

Senators in Class I were elected to office in the November 2000 general election. Their terms run from the beginning of the 107th Congress on January 3, 2001 to the end of the 109th Congress in January 2007.


Class II

Senators in Class II were elected to office in the November 2002 general election. Their terms run from the beginning of the 108th Congress on January 3, 2003 to the end of the 110th Congress in January 2009.
