The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategic and Tactical Systems (S&TS) provides portfolio management, technical and programmatic evaluation, and functional oversight for Department of Defense strategic and tactical programs in support of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics and the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Space and Intelligence Office (SIO) is the focal point for all Department of Defense (DoD) space and intelligence acquisition oversight and related activities.

As the central office for major defense authorization performance assessment, root cause analysis, and earned value management (EVM), PARCA issues policies, procedures and guidance governing the conduct of such work by the Military Departments and the Defense Agencies.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Communications, Command and Control, and Cyber (C3 & Cyber) provides the leadership for functional and acquisition oversight of all critical war fighting communications, command and control, and cyberspace capabilities in the Department of Defense (DoD). Additionally, the office performs the responsibilities of the Principal Staff Assistant for non-intelligence space systems supporting the DoD leadership.

Joint Operations Support (JOS) pursues the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Acquisition, Technology & Logistics (AT&L) goals for fielding relevant and responsive warfighter capabilities by promoting identification and validation of critical military needs, facilitating interaction with end-user customers of warfighting capabilities at major joint commands, and by efficiently managing defense program-budget processes and resource execution for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Acquisition (ASD(A)).

The Defense Acquisition University provide a full range of basic, intermediate, and advanced certification training, assignment-specific training, applied research, and continuous learning opportunities for members of the defense acquisition workforce.

The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) is the Department of Defense (DoD) component that works directly with defense suppliers to help ensure that DoD, Federal, and allied government supplies and services are delivered on time, at projected cost, and meet all performance requirements.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Treaties and Threat Reduction DASD(T&TR) provides acquisition and implementation oversight of cooperative threat reduction and chemical demilitarization programs; ensures compliance with nuclear, biological, and chemical treaties; and builds global partner capacity to counter weapons of mass destruction.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters (DASD(NM)) fulfills the nuclear and radiological roles, responsibilities, and functions for the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Defense Programs (ASD(NCB)).

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological Defense (DASD(CB)) provides a focal point for funding, research development and acquisition, integration, and oversight for chemical-biological defense issues.

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is the Department of Defense's official Combat Support Agency for countering weapons of mass destruction. DTRA's programs include basic science research and development, operational support to warfighters on the front line, and an in-house WMD think tank that aims to anticipate and mitigate future threats long before they have a chance to harm the United States and our allies.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research has policy and oversight responsibility for DoD programs in basic research, applied research, advanced development, and advanced components and prototypes. The purview of the Research Directorate includes the DoD laboratories, the science and engineering workforce, and efforts for stimulating science, engineering and mathematics education.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Systems Engineering (SE)is the focal point for all policy, practice, and procedural matters relating to Department of Defense Systems Engineering and its key elements to include technical risk management, software engineering, manufacturing and production, quality, standardization, and related disciplines.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Fielding is responsible for policy, oversight and initiation of discovery, development, and delivery of advanced technology concepts, demonstrations and prototypes for improved military capabilities to counter unconventional and time-sensitive threats.

On April 1, 2011, the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics directed the DASD(DT&E) to concurrently serve as the Director, TRMC. Since then, these two organizations have been transforming into a world-class team of professionals focused on improving DT&E planning and execution, building the professional workforce, maintaining state-of-the-art T&E facilities, and providing data-driven support to the DoD Components. The DT&E team is dedicated to improving acquisition outcomes and advocacy of the T&E Workforce.

DARPA is the research and development office for the U.S. Department of Defense. DARPA's mission is to maintain technological superiority of the U.S. military and prevent technological surprise from harming our national security.

DTIC is the central source within the Department of Defense for acquiring, storing, retrieving and disseminating scientific and technical information to support the management and conduct of DoD research, development, engineering and studies programs.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Transportation Policy is responsible for establishing policies and providing guidance to Department of Defense (DoD) Components for efficient and effective use of government and commercial transportation resources.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Materiel Readiness advises and assists the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics & Materiel Readiness in establishing policies, procedures and implementing actions to integrate acquisition and sustainment processes into a Life Cycle Management framework to optimize weapon system Materiel Readiness.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Maintenance Policy and Programs (ADUSD(MPP)) develops policies and procedures for maintenance support of major weapon systems and military equipment.

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Program Support advises Department of Defense leadership on policy and program support to the combatant commands (less TRANSCOM).

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Supply Chain Integration (DASD(SCI)) is responsible for the development and direction of the Defense-wide Supply Chain Integration functions.

The Defense Logistics Agency is the Department of Defense's largest logistics combat support agency, providing worldwide logistics support in both peacetime and wartime to the military services as well as several civilian agencies and foreign countries.

The Basing Directorate oversees basing initiatives and real property management for the Department of Defense worldwide. Besides managing joint basing activities, real estate, and realignment initiatives, the Directorate has specific responsibility for program management and implementation issues concerning the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) program.

The Business Enterprise Integration Directorate leads business process reengineering within the Installations and Environment (I&E) business areas; develops IT information, data, and technical standards to enable lifecycle Real Property, I&E, Safety and Occupational Health management; oversees IT investment for all I&E systems to ensure compliant, cost-effective, and integrated solutions; and provides policy and guidance to geospatially enable the business mission.

The Directorate of Housing and Competitive Sourcing (H&CS) is responsible for the development of major Departmental policies, procedures, and resource guidance which direct the Department of Defense's (DoD) implementation of military housing, including implementation and oversight of Defense policy in the areas of accompanied and unaccompanied housing, and the Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI), Section 2885 of Title 10, United States Code.

The Chemical & Material Risk Management Directorate is responsible for identifying and managing risks associated with the Department's use of chemicals and materials; developing lifecycle environment, safety, and health considerations into the DoD acquisition process, and pursuing the sustainable use of chemical and materials.

The Environmental Management Directorate develops environmental programs, policy and strategic plans for DoD activities throughout the United States. These environmental programs include compliance with environmental laws, reduction of green house gases, adaptation to climate change, Native American programs, green buildings, management of natural and cultural resources, and cleanup of contaminated sites.

The Environmental Readiness and Safety Directorate is responsible for protecting personnel, property, and mission capabilities through informed environmental risk decisions.

The Facilities Investment & Management Directorate works to ensure that the Department delivers cost-effective, safe, and environmentally sound capabilities to military facilities worldwide.

The Facilities Energy Directorate is responsible for managing energy consumption for over 545,000 military facilities across the globe.
