Charge  
  To contribute directly to NIH's policy development and decision-making process by serving as a forum for discussion and analysis on a range of issues related to the conduct and oversight of NIH-funded clinical research.  
Functions  
  Serve as a mechanism to identify and analyze prospectively emerging clinical research issues by providing a forum for consultation, communication, and collaboration between the Institutes and Centers and the Office of the Director.
Provide ongoing harmonization, streamlining, and coordination efforts to ensure consistent policies and procedures across NIH.
Monitor and report on important ethical, legal, and social issues that may have an impact on current programs and policies or affect the future direction of clinical research.
 
Membership  
  Chaired by the Director for Science Policy, NIH and composed of IC an OD Senior Staff. External and internal ad hoc members will be added as needed.  
Meeting Schedule  
  Bi-Monthly.
