FOIA: NMO provides a decentralized Freedom of Information Act Program for the agency at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), enabling the public to better understand the business of the Government by providing timely and accurate agency records to citizens of the world.

Records Management: NASA Management Office (NMO) provides oversight and guidance to the JPL Records Manager and Archivist, ensures compliance with NASA retention/disposition schedules and verifies that historical and statutory requirements are followed and program objectives are met.

Privacy Act: NMO provides oversight and guidance to the Privacy point of contact and enforces compliance with agency and statutory requirements regarding the storage and retrieval of Privacy Act information and management of Privacy Act systems of records.

You may also send your request by post mail to the address shown on the right side of this page under, “Contact Information,” or you may fax your request to (818) 393-3160. If you mail or fax your request, please be sure to include all the information needed for the on the on-line request form.

We attempt to answer most requests within the statutory time limit of 20 working days following the receipt of a perfected request. Although we do not always contact requesters when we first receive a request, we may contact you during the processing to ask questions or to give you a status report on the processing.
