Understanding Disabilities

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act was enacted to ensure that Federal employees and members of the public with disabilities have access to the Federal government's electronic and information technology (E&IT). EPA works to ensure the accessibility of the Agency's Web sites, software, hardware, video and multimedia, and telecommunications by providing resources to information users with disabilities, information developers, and information managers. For more information about Section 508 and EPA's role in ensuring accessibility refer to Basic Information.
