The over 29,000 cubic feet (70 million pages) of textual materials housed at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum include Presidential records from the Executive Office of the President (EOP).

Examples of EOP records are the White House Office of Records Management Subject Files, the files from White House staff members, such as Condoleezza Rice and Karl Rove, the files of the National Security Council, and the records created by The Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction (The WMD Commission).

In addition to these Presidential records, the Library houses the condolence mail received by the State Department following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and will eventually house George W. Bush gubernatorial records and other donated collections.

Presidential records at the Library are being processed under the terms of the Presidential Records Act and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and are currently unavailable for research at this time. The Library’s Presidential records will become subject to the FOIA on January 20, 2014.
