Planning a Field Trip

When the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum opens in 2013, we will offer a wide variety of program options available to those interested in bringing students to the facility.

In addition to the traditional museum visit, teachers will have the option of selecting one of our museum programs to enrich their students’ experience. Available for grades K-12 and focusing on a variety of themes, including good citizenship, conservation, the three branches of government, and many more, all museum programs will be created using student requirements listed in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Each program also will include pre-visit and post-visit activities to ensure students are fully engaging with the theme of the program. We also will offer a reference guide available to those who prefer a self-led tour; the guide will help teachers highlight specific portions of the exhibits related to TEKS requirements.

All information that teachers will need about scheduling a field trip will be made available.
