Frederick National Lab Web Help

The site infrastructure has changed to reflect the many changes at the institutes over the last several years. We understand that this may cause some confusion for those who were adept at using the previous site navigation, but hope that the transition to the new method of navigation will be brief and not too painful.

In addition, the facility has recently been re-named from the Frederick National Lab to the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research. Given the number of pages on the website, updating references to the Frederick National Lab will be an ongoing process that could take a few months. We thank you in advance for your patience.

I need help with an error experienced on the the Frederick National Lab website.

We are sorry that you have experienced an issue with our website. Please e-mail the Frederick Webmaster with your issues, or you may call 301-846-5115.

I cannot find my content on the new website. Where is it?

We have taken a phased approach to the launch of the the Frederick National Lab website due to the large amount of content. As a result, it is most likely that your content has not “moved” but the method to navigate to it has changed. This means that the web address will still be the same and any links or bookmarks to that content location will continue to work as usual.

To quickly find your content you may use one of the following options:

  • Use the enhanced Search Function located in the page header to search the full website, or
  • Check the the Frederick National Lab Site Map to find your content. Only content that has been moved into the new look and feel will be included in the site map.

Will my bookmarks and favorites still work?

Many of your current bookmarks and favorites will still work as we have implemented redirects for a significant amount of the content that moved file location. Please contact the the Frederick National Lab Webmaster if you encounter any issues and we will do our best to resolve your issue as soon as possible.

What about links that are embedded in documents or other sites? Will they break?

The the Frederick National Lab web site has a very high volume of content, including web pages, documents and images. With this volume it is possible that some links will break. However, we have done a lot of groundwork to prevent this, including adding page specific redirects. As more content is added to the new look and feel, we will be touching base with content owners and at that time will address any specific concerns regarding updates.

What happened to the Campus section?

The campus section of the website has been removed as a result of the significant amount of feedback we have received regarding outdated links and the difficulty finding specific content. Many of the links now reside in the “Services” section of the website, which has been expanded. You may also try the “For Our Staff” section for more specific information. If you cannot find your links please do not hesitate to contact the the Frederick National Lab Webmaster or to call the the Frederick National Lab Helpdesk at extension 5115.

Where are my personal Quicklinks?

We were able to determine that only 10 users across campus used this functionality on the prior site, so it was not scheduled to be replicated for this first release. However, we do plan to address this functionality in a later release of the website. If you have suggestions or feedback on how you’d like to see this work, please contact the the Frederick National Lab Webmaster
