Underground Reactor Pipes and Tritium

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has been overseeing nuclear power plants and their tritium monitoring programs for several years. Our reviews have confirmed leaks with tritium in underground pipes have not affected public health and safety and the environment.  More information on this issue is provided at the following links.
