The Citizens' Report is a summary of performance and financial results. The report presents the Department's highest priorities, strengths, and challenges in the conduct of U.S. foreign policy. Accompanying the report is a podcast message about how the State Department carries out its diplomatic mission.

The Agency Financial Report provides an overview of the Department's financial performance and results to help Congress, the President, and the public assess our stewardship over the financial resources entrusted to us.

 Congressional Budget Justification
The Congressional Budget Justification lays out the resources requested for Department appropriations that will be used to strengthen the core programming, policy, and management capabilities of the Department necessary to carry out vital U.S. diplomatic and consular relations with more than 180 countries.

The Budget in Brief includes a budget summary and details the budget request for Department appropriations. Its sections include specific resource requirements for programs, activities, and management initiatives, as well as targeted performance information.

 The Annual Performance Report and Plan
The Annual Performance Report and Plan describes how the Department will accomplish long-term strategic goals, define program success, and measure and verify results achieved.

 The President's Management Agenda Scorecard
The President's Management Agenda was created in 2001 with the goal of improving management and performance of the federal government. The PMA includes five major initiatives: Improved Program Performance; Strategic Management of Human Capital; Expanded Electronic Government; Improved Financial Performance; and Competitive Sourcing. These initiatives are measured using a "Scorecard."

 The Program Rating Assessment Tool
The Program Assessment Rating Tool (PART) was developed to assess and improve program performance so that the Federal government can achieve better results. A PART review helps identify a program's strengths and weaknesses to inform funding and management decisions aimed at making the program more effective. The Department of State's PART results are housed on the Expectmore.gov website.

The Performance and Accountability Report provides performance results and audited financial statements that enable Congress, the President, and the public to assess the performance of the Department in achieving its mission and managing its resources.

 Strategic Plan
The Department of State and USAID Strategic Plan presents how the Department and USAID will implement U.S. foreign policy and development assistance. It also supports the policy decisions set forth in the National Security Strategy.
