    T’s the season for giving, and the United States Marine Corps presented gifts to the children at the Glenhope Nursery. Joined by U.S. Ambassador to Jamaica, Pamela Bridgewater, the Marine Detachment of the United States Embassy in Kingston shared Christmas cheer, through their annual U.S. Marine Corps 'Toys for Tots' Program.

    U.S. Embassy Kingston welcomes Dr. Mae C. Jemison for Black History Month

    The Embassy of the United States of America in Kingston will commence its Black History Month celebrations with former NASA Astronaut Dr. Mae C. Jemison, on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. While in Jamaica, Dr. Jemison will participate in a science diplomacy lecture at the Embassy, designed for practicing scientists, students, and educators of science and an official evening reception hosted by U.S. Ambassador to Jamaica, Pamela E. Bridgewater.

    Regional Federal Benefits Officer to Visit Jamaica, Feb 20-22nd

    Do you have questions about your Social Security benefits? If so, Jane McEntee, the Regional Federal Benefits Officer, will be visiting Jamaica from February 20 – 22nd. Jane will host a town hall meeting at the Mandeville Hotel at 10:00AM on February 20th and at the Embassy in Kingston at 10:00AM on February 21st.

    USCIS to Close its Office in Kingston, Jamaica, on March 1

    On March 1, 2013, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will permanently close its field office in Kingston, Jamaica and the USCIS Field Office in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic will assume Kingston’s former jurisdiction.

This is one example of the strong U.S. commitment to working hand in hand with the nations of the Caribbean to address shared challenges.
