    US Consulate Partners with NGO to Launch “Think Black” Campaign

    Consulate Recife Principal Officer Usha Pitts joined local NGO Auçuba at the Oi Kabum! Art and Technology School to launch the "Think Black" campaign. The Consulate-funded campaign is the work of Oi Kabum! students, who created ads promoting racial awareness and sensitivity that will be displayed on public buses in the cities of Recife and Olinda.

    State Department Supports Eco-Soap Project in Alagoas

    Consulate Recife’s Political and Economic Officer Douglas Flitter attended the launch of an eco-soap factory in Maceio, Alagoas. The project is coordinated by NGO Graciliano É uma Graça with the leadership of Nilson Júnior, a former CONSED-US Embassy School Principal Award Winner for Alagoas.

    U.S. Consulate Supports English Fair in the Interior of Pernambuco

    The Petrolina International English Fair promoted English language learning, teacher training, and “internationalization” in Petrolina. A highlight of the fair was the national launch of 3D video game “Trace Effects,” a free tool designed by the State Department to help promote English language learning.
