NOAA Workforce Management Office

Serving NOAA's Most Valuable Asset - People

WFMO Payroll, Records and Timekeeping Division

The Payroll, Records and Timekeeping Division (PRTD) provides timely and accurate service to all employees by following guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by the Federal Government. We strive to continually improve and streamline our business practices in collaboration with NOAA line offices. We focus on providing quality customer service and support to all NOAA employees. The PRTD is staffed geographically across NOAA to ensure timely and quality services.

Payroll and Time Keeping: Provides a full range of operational payroll services, such as voluntary leave transfers, debt management/garnishments, payroll accounting, Awards Processing, Webta, and client specific customer service. We takes a proactive approach to ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time, initiating problem resolution and interacting with employees, timekeepers, supervisors and NOAA line offices sometimes even before the affected employee is aware that there is a problem. We work closely with clients to meet their individual needs, identify areas requiring payroll staff intervention and/or monitoring, and to provide continuous feedback and resolution of payroll and T&A issues.

Customer questions and concerns can be e-mailed to: WFMO.pay@noaa.gov

General guidance in different topic areas, as well as links to the additional resources can be found below:

Awards Processing: As an employee, you may be eligible to receive a Cash Award. A cash award is a one-time, lump-sum payment that is given for various reasons:

Please email award submissions to: awards@noaa.gov

Additional guidance and information is located on the WFMO Awards website.

Electronic Official Personnel Folders (eOPF): NOAA in conjunction with the Office of Personnel Management has implemented an E-Gov initiative to provide employees with easier and faster access to their Official Personnel Folder (OPF), the file containing the employment history of civilian Federal Government employees.

NOAA has converted each employee's OPF from a paper file to an eOPF (electronic file or electronic OPF). The eOPF system is an automated solution to manage the OPF process and allows each employee to have access to their individual OPF forms and information through the Internet.
