Water: National Drinking Water Advisory Council

National Drinking Water Advisory Council

EPA is committed to working with its stakeholders, the people for whom safe drinking water is an important aspect of daily and/or professional life. One of the formal means by which EPA works with its stakeholders is the National Drinking Water Advisory Council (NDWAC).

The Council, comprising members of the general public, state and local agencies, and private groups concerned with safe drinking water, advises the EPA Administrator on everything relating to drinking water for the Agency.

NDWAC working groups consist of approximately 20 members with a variety of viewpoints. These working groups make recommendations to the full Council, which in turn advise EPA on individual regulations, guidance, and policy matters. All NDWAC working group meetings and full NDWAC meetings are open to the public.

Times and locations of upcoming meetings are posted in the Federal Register notices, and in the Announcements section.
