SARDA Human-in-the-Loop Simulation at FutureFlight Central You are invited to view the Human-in-the-Loop Simulation demonstration of the Spot and Runway Departure Advisor (SARDA) at FutureFlight Central (FFC), a virtual reality air traffic control tower. DESCRIPTION SARDA is a prototype decision-support tool to assist tower controllers and flight operators to enhance the efficiency of aircraft traffic on the airport surface, thereby reducing taxi delays, fuel consumption, and adverse environmental impacts. The SARDA concept includes the optimized sequence and schedule of airport surface events, such as gate push back, spot release, and runway operations. SARDA also includes controller advisories displayed on the Electronic Flight Strips (EFS) system, and enhanced data exchange between air traffic controllers and flight operators. SARDA is envisioned to facilitate surface-collaborative decision-making processes between ATC and airlines. EVENT DATE AND LOCATION Wednesday, June 27, 2012 NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California TIMES Demonstrations will begin with a briefing at 9:00am and at 1:00pm. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/REGISTRATION Pre-registration is required as FFC space is limited and may not be able to accommodate everyone for quality viewing and observation. Please indicate your time at time of registration. Time slots may be adjusted as necessary. WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
