Typhoon Melor is bearing down on Guam and Rota in this image from the JMA MTSAT-1R satellite. The center of Melor is forecast to pass just north of Saipan on October 3 with sustained winds of 130 knots and gusts up to 160 knots. The storm is expected to intensify further along its northwest track.
