Hurricane Season Heats Up in the Caribbean and Pacifc

The National Hurricane Center is keeping a close watch on two areas of low pressure along the Intertropical Convergence Zone. In the Eastern Pacific there is a near-100% chance of tropical cyclone formation in the next 48 hours, and in the Caribbean a 50% chance in the next 48 hours as that low moves slowly north northwest over the next few days. This image was taken by GOES East at 2015Z on June 6, 2011.
