Federal Executive Institute
Onboarding for New SES Members

Overview

The Federal Executive Institute (FEI) is pleased to offer an onboarding program for new members of the Senior Executive Service (SES) or equivalent. The program is designed for Executives in their first or second year of the SES and it focuses on interagency partnerships and current leadership topics. Senior Executives will find the most value from this program when they attend the SES Orientation Briefing followed by the SES Leadership Seminars.

SES Orientation Briefing

This two day orientation is held in Washington, DC. The new SES members hear from key government officials, which have included Cabinet Secretaries and top advisors to the President. The briefing incorporates lectures, discussions, question-and-answer periods, opportunities for networking, and ends with a swearing-in ceremony.

SES Onboarding Leadership Seminars

These seminars are held in Washington, DC and are designed to accelerate early success and interagency networking of new SES members with access to public-private sector strategies. Attendees will gain real-world perspectives and strengthen effectiveness in the OPM Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) to foster a more efficient, effective, performance-driven Federal government.
