Assessment & Evaluation Online Assessment

OPM’s Human Resources Solutions (HRS), through USA HireSM, offers agencies the capability to deliver innovative and robust online assessment solutions in proctored and unproctored environments. This includes developing customized, online assessments for selection, promotion, and training; automating existing agency-owned paper-and-pencil assessments; and using existing, online OPM assessments for selection and promotion.

Integrating online assessments offered through USA HireSM into your existing hiring process can save time, agency resources, and help your agency identify higher quality candidates. USA HireSM is available to all Federal agencies.

To benefit your hiring process, you may choose from our Pathways, Off-the-Shelf, or Customized Solutions.

Pathways Solutions:

The USA HireSM Pathways Solution has released an off-the-shelf solution for agencies to use when conducting Pathways Program Internship hiring. The USA HireSM Pathways Internship battery targets critical general competencies needed for successful performance in any Trainee (xx99) position. USA HireSM also offers 12 off-the-shelf Pathways Recent Graduates solutions. For Recent Graduates positions outside of the series currently offered off-the-shelf by USA HireSM, we will work with agencies on an individual basis to determine the applicability and use of our off-the-shelf assessment products for other occupational series. 

In addition, the USA HireSM assessment batteries are available for use when hiring Recent Graduates for any of the twelve occupational series targeted (see below) as part of the USA HireSM Pilot.  For Recent Graduates positions outside of the series covered in the USA HireSM Pilot, we will work with agencies on an individual basis to determine the applicability and use of our off-the-shelf assessment products for other occupational series.       • Mathematical Reasoning Assessment

      • Situational Judgment Assessment (One-graded occupations)
      • Situational Judgment Assessment (Two-graded occupations)
      • Occupational Interaction Assessment (Static)
      • Occupational Interaction Assessment (Computer-Adaptive)
      • Project Management Assessment (to be released in FY13)
  • Our off-the-shelf assessments target a range of critical, general competencies such as Accountability, Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Decision-Making, Flexibility, Interpersonal Skills, Mathematical Reasoning, Project Management Skills, Reading, Reasoning, and Teamwork.
  • Off-the-shelf solutions are currently available for the series below. We will actively explore expansion to other series in partnership with interested agencies.

Customized Solutions:

The USA HireSM team can work with your agency to design and implement an online assessment solution for virtually any scenario:

  • Expansion of current USA HireSM off-the-shelf products to additional series or grades
  • Development of assessments to measure general competencies not covered by USA HireSM’s current off-the-shelf products (any series or grade)
  • Development of assessments of technical competencies (any series or grade)
  • Development of assessments for use in Supervisory and Managerial hiring
  • Development of assessments for use in Promotional testing, Training and Development, Leadership Development, or Workforce Planning
