  • Advanced Platforms

Programs within this focus area aim to discover technological improvements in the ability to project precise force at a distance, prosecute time-sensitive-targets with minimal collateral damage and decisively respond across the full spectrum of armed conflict.

TTO is interested in concepts for advanced autonomous, remotely operated and manned air, land, sea and space platform systems that enable the U.S. military to dominate global operations and the battlespace environment.

    Unmanned Systems

Objectives: Improve navigation in dynamic conditions; extend range and endurance; increase adaptive autonomous operations
Military Utility: Replaces soldiers in dirty, dull, and dangerous missions; provides ISR standoff and combat engagement capability against critical targets; reduces human resources required for high-risk missions

    X-planes

Objectives: Optimize designs for multiple missions and operating conditions; advance innovative systems and concepts for aircraft, aircraft subsystems, propulsion, avionics and flight control technologies
Military Utility: Enables rapid response globally; increases operating conditions in which force can be applied; advances navigation in complex environments

    Manned Platforms

Objectives: Increase mobility, responsiveness, survivability, reliability, and supportability; enhance efficiency and effectiveness of manned land, air, and sea platforms
Military Utility: Enhance soldier's ability to support full spectrum engagement; provide the warfighter increased protection; multi-mission, rapid response capability
