  • Conference on Urban and Regional Economics
    Friday, October 19, and Saturday, October 20, 2012
    Princeton University, through the Institute for International and Regional Studies, and the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia will host the fourth annual Conference on Urban and Regional Economics (CURE).
  • A Course in New Keynesian Monetary Economics
    Monday, October 29, and Tuesday, October 30, 2012
    The Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is hosting an intensive two-day course in New Keynesian monetary economics, featuring Professor Carl E. Walsh. This introductory course will cover relevant topics in the New Keynesian literature. Starting from the basic model with nominal rigidities, the course will go over policymaking at the zero lower bound of interest rates. Other topics will include labor market and financial frictions and their interactions with fiscal and monetary policy. The course is for Federal Reserve System Research Department staff.

    The annual research conference of the Federal Reserve System's Committee on Regional Analysis will be held October 2-4, 2012, at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. All Federal Reserve researchers with an interest in regional or spatial economics are invited to contribute and attend.
  • 2012 Conference on Real-Time Data Analysis, Methods, and Applications
    Friday, October 5, and Saturday, October 6, 2012
    The Real-Time Data Research Center of the Philadelphia Fed's Research Department and the CIRANO Forecasting and High-Dimensional Data Analysis Group are co-sponsoring another in a series of conferences on real-time data analysis, methods, and applications in macroeconomics and finance, to be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia on October 5-6, 2012. The conference will bring together leading researchers interested in real-time data analysis, including, but not limited to, real-time macro- and financial econometrics, forecasting, and policy analysis.
  • Monetary Policy, Inflation, and International Linkages
    Thursday, May 24, and Friday, May 25, 2012
    The Deutsche Bundesbank and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia are organizing a joint conference to discuss the international linkages that bind nations together in the face of recent economic and financial crises. At the conference, which will cover two days, nine high-quality research papers will be presented and formally discussed and there will be talks by the presidents of the Deutsche Bundesbank and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
  • Sixth Annual Conference on Macroeconomics Across Time and Space

    The sixth annual meeting of the Macroeconomics Across Time and Space working group will be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia on May 18 and 19, 2012. The aim of the group is to bring together the large number of researchers in aggregate economics who are using modern dynamic theory to investigate substantive historical questions.

  • Workshop on Methods and Applications for Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Models

    The workshop focused on the development of new methods for the estimation and evaluation of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium models and on the substantive economic applications of these methods. This year's workshop was hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and supported by the NBER Methods and Applications for DSGE Models working group.

    The Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, the Economics Department at Rutgers University, and the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond sponsored this conference that brought together leading researchers in all areas of real-time data analysis.

The workshops lasted a day and a half, with eight high-quality research papers presented and formally discussed. This year's workshop focused on topics in monetary theory, monetary policy, money and asset markets, and economic development.
  • Federal Reserve System Community Development Studies and Education-Research Conference External Link

    The Community Development Studies and Education Officers of the Federal Reserve System jointly sponsored their fifth biennial research conference, to encourage objective research into the factors governing the availability of credit and capital to individuals and businesses within this changing financial services environment. The Philadelphia Fed's Research Department and Community Development Studies and Education Department organized the conference program. The conference brought together a diverse audience from academia, financial institutions, community organizations, foundations, and government. The Journal of Economics and Business intends to publish a special issue on the topics covered in the conference.

  • The Use of Composite Indexes in Regional Economic Analysis
    September 4 – 5, 2003
    The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, in association with the Review of Economics and Statistics, held a conference on the use of composite indexes in regional analysis.
  • Conference on Retail Credit Risk Management and Measurement
    April 24 – 25, 2003
    The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia sponsored a conference on retail credit risk management and measurement. Selected papers presented at the conference will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Banking and Finance.

    The workshop was sponsored by the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Penn Institute of Economic Research, and International Economic Review. The purpose of this workshop was to foster research in the area of monetary and macroeconomics by bringing together researchers from academia and policy institutions around the world for intensive discussion of their current research relating to monetary theory, labor economics, asset markets, macroeconomic and monetary policies, and other relevant areas.
