      Although it may be difficult to find funding specific to underage alcohol prevention, many of the grants promote strengthening children’s relations with their families and creating healthy environments, which can, in turn, reduce the likelihood of children engaging in alcohol later in life.

    • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

      The National Prevention Information Network’s Funding Database is used to locate private and Government funding opportunities for community-based and HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, and tuberculosis service organizations. Type “alcohol” in the Search Term field to find grants that link alcohol to these conditions. Included are details about eligibility requirements, application processes, and deadlines.

    • National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)

      Search and apply for NIAAA research and training funding opportunities.

    • National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)

      Learn how to secure funding for NIDA grants and contracts. The first section provides general information and assistance, while the second section contains funding opportunity announcements.

    • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

      This section contains information on current SAMHSA grant opportunities, including details on how to apply for a new grant online and how to apply for a continuation of a SAMHSA grant (current grantees only). Several useful resources are also provided, such as help with grant writing, as well as training and technical assistance for grant applicants.

      The NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts is the official publication for National Institutes of Health medical and behavioral research grant policies, guidelines, and funding opportunities. It is published on a weekly basis, and users may Subscribe/Unsubscribe to the weekly email LISTSERV Table of Contents (TOC). The January 13, 2005, NIH Guide Notice provides information on searches and expiration dates. It is also used by NIH contracting offices and other HHS agencies to announce their funding opportunities. The NIH Guide serves in lieu of the Federal Register, in compliance with the Administrative Procedures Act. Occasionally, unofficial notices of interest to the scientific research community are published. Use the Search field under “Funding.”
