CSM Freeman

Command Sergeant Major Donald J Freeman entered active service on 10 September 1985.
Prior to arriving at Fort Sam Houston and the 502nd Mission Support Group, CSM Freeman served as the 61st Ordnance Brigade Command Sergeant Major at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
CSM Freeman has held every leadership position in the Noncommissioned Officer ranks from squad leader to Brigade command sergeant major. His assignments include the Third Infantry Division, Second Armored Division, First Cavalry Division, and the Tenth Mountain Division. His overseas deployments and assignments include Germany, Africa, Kuwait, Bosnia, and combat tours where joint environments are standard operating procedure in Afghanistan and Iraq.
CSM Freeman has earned numerous awards and distinctions throughout his career. These include the Bronze Star Medal, five Meritorious Service Medals, and the Combat Action Badge. He has been a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy and Sergeant Morales Clubs since 1990.
 CSM Freeman’s military education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System, Battle Staff Course, and the Master Fitness Trainer Course. He is a graduate of class 54 of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.
