Dietary Sodium Mini-Symposium
In honor of National Nutrition Month, the NIH Division of Nutrition Research Coordination sponsored a Mini-Symposium entitled, "Dietary Sodium: Recommendations, Evidence, Challenges, and Applications for Clinical Guidance." The meeting was held in the NIH, Lister Hill Auditorium on Friday, March 9th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The meeting featured oral presentations and a panel discussion.
The presentation topics include methods used to assess sodium intake of the U.S. population, the role of sodium in food preservation and processing, salt taste perception, dietary guidance messages, and strategies to reduce dietary sodium intakes.
