PET Interest Group
 The NIH PET Interest Group brings together investigators from a wide range of fields, including radiochemistry, image processing, mathematical modeling, physics, nuclear medicine, neurology, psychiatry, cardiology, oncology, internal medicine, cognitive neurosciences, and neurobiology. It is a forum for investigators developing new PET methods and using PET to study normal organ function and the pathophysiology of disease, and for those interested in learning more about PET. Members are welcome from the NIH intramural and extramural community, other Federal agencies, and area universities and health care facilities.
Occasional seminars are held on Fridays at 2 p.m. in Building 10, Room 1-5674 (Nuclear Medicine/PET Conference Room). For further information, contact group moderator Peter Herscovitch, M.D., herscovitch@nih.gov.
PET image on right obtained with F-18 cyclofoxy, a mu and kappa opiate receptor antagonist, acquired on the GE Advance scanner. High uptake is seen in thalamus, basal ganglia, and amygdala.
