NGS Ten Year Plan

After an extensive review of stakeholder feedback on the original draft of the NGS Ten Year Plan, a final version was created and approved by the NGS Executive Steering Committee on January 9, 2008.  The Ten Year Plan establishes a modern mission and a bold vision for NGS and describes how NGS can realize that vision through five ambitious technical improvements: (1) Modernize the Geometric ("horizontal") Datum, (2) Modernize the Geopotential ("vertical") Datum, (3) Migrate the Coastal Mapping Program toward Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM), (4) Evolve Core Capabilities, and (5) Increase Agency Visibility.

The NGS Strategic Plan

To realize the vision of the NGS Ten-Year Plan, NGS has adopted a Strategic Plan, which looks three years out.  NGS leadership reviews the Strategic Plan annually and modifies it as necessary.  Click here to download the 2012 NGS Strategic Plan.
