2001 Letter of Invitation

Letterhead

November 30, 2001

Dear Colleague in Industry:

The Pharmacogenetics Research Network announces the opportunity to again nominate representatives to the Industry Liaison Group. Please see http://www.nigms.nih.gov/Research/FeaturedPrograms/PGRN/ for background information on the Pharmacogenetics Research Network, its researchers and their projects, and PharmGKB (http://www.pharmgkb.org/ Link to external Web site). The Industry Liaison Group is an informal group that communicates with the Steering Committee of the Pharmacogenetics Research Network in order to exchange ideas about goals and opportunities in this field. Membership will be on an annual, renewable basis by mutual agreement, with terms staggered to allow both turnover and continuity for the group. Past membership and a brief report can be viewed at http://www.nigms.nih.gov/news/reports/industry_liaison.html.

Self nominations consisting of a cover letter describing the reasons for your interest and a current curriculum vitae are sought by January 31, 2002. Selections will again be made based upon scientific background, industrial experience, interest in pharmacogenetics, and vision of opportunities in the field. Consideration will be given to achieving breadth and balance in the Industry Liaison Group. Submit materials to:

Rochelle M. Long, Ph.D.
Pharmacology, Physiology, & Biological Chemistry Division
NIGMS, NIH
45 Center Dr., Rm. 2AS-49G
Bethesda, MD 20892-6200

Please also note that the next open scientific meeting of the Pharmacogenetics Research Network will be held on March 12, 2002 at Stanford University. More information will be available at the meeting Web site (http://www.pharmgkb.org/meetings.html#3). Registration will open after January 1, 2002. Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting.

Thank you for your interest. Please call if you have any questions.
