What We Do

In the Community

We are not faceless bureaucrats! We're moms and dads, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters. We enjoy being a resource for our community, and we support education and awareness. Here are some of our current programs.

Partners In Education (PIE)

For over 15 years, Public Debt has been a "Partner In Education" with McKinley Elementary School. McKinley, located at the corner of 19th Street and Dudley Avenue, in Parkersburg, WV, has over 400 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Our partnership with McKinley gives Public Debt employees a chance to positively influence the life of a child in an educational environment.

Homework Helpers (and Homework Helpers Alternates) assist students one-on-one with homework issues. Read-Aloud Volunteers and PANDA Physical Fitness Program volunteers bring the joy of words and of physical activity to children at McKinley every week.

School Supply Drive

Public Debt runs an ongoing School Supply Drive to assist in providing much-needed supplies to local school children.

Monthly Community Service Projects

Public Debt staffers are encouraged to initiate Monthly Community Service Projects, such as food drives or supply drives, for local schools and communities. "Public Debt has the most generous employees," wrote an overjoyed school principal after the delivery of a recent service project collection.
