How can I search for grants using a keyword, FON or CFDA number
Solution
Basic search allows you to search for grants using a Keyword, Funding Opportunity Number (FON) or Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number. NOTE: The Basic Search, Browse by Category and Browse by Agency search options will display both closed and open grant opportunities. However, these search options do not display archived opportunities. To search for archived opportunities, please use the Advanced Search option. Reference FAQ titled: How do I search for grants that have been archived? To begin follow these steps: 1. From the Grants.gov home screen, select FIND GRANT OPPORTUNITIES from within the red menu on the left side of the screen. 2. Next, select the BASIC SEARCH option from the blue navigation box on the left or the gray BASIC SEARCH bar in the middle of the screen. 3. Type in a search by using either the Key Word, Funding Opportunity Number or CFDA number and click search. 4. Search Results display grant opportunity titles as hyperlinks. Use the hyperlinks to further examine the opportunity to determine if it’s right for you. 5. Clicking on an opportunity will lead to its synopsis. The synopsis page includes a brief overview of the announcement, a review over eligibility, a description, and any additional information. At the top of the page, there are 2 links entitled FULL ANNOUNCEMENT and APPLICATION. • The FULL ANNOUNCEMENT link connects to a larger announcement, which has more detailed information about the opportunity. This option also allows you to download a file containing the opportunity information. • The APPLICATION link is used to download the application instructions and package.
