Breastfeeding -
Did you know that breastfeeding can significantly reduce the risk of childhood obesity, diabetes, allergies and asthma, and many types of infections such as upper respiratory, gastro intestinal, necrotizing enterocolitis? The 14 Indian Health Service maternity hospitals are working to adopt the World Health Organization’s 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and to be designated as a "Baby Friendly Hospital" by Baby Friendly USA. IHS is launching a website devoted entirely to this initiative.
