Heart disease and stroke are two of the leading causes of death in the United States. Million Hearts™ brings together communities, health systems, nonprofit organizations, federal agencies, and private-sector partners from across the country to fight heart disease and stroke.

Overview

Million Hearts™ is a national initiative that was launched by the Department of Health and Human Services in September 2011 to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over five years.

Achieving Goals

Million Hearts™ will achieve its goal by reducing the number of people who need treatment and by improving the ABCS for those who do.
