Resource Name/Title

Cooperative Human Tissue Network (CHTN)

Description

  • CHTN provides normal, benign, pre-cancerous and cancerous human tissue for basic and developmental studies in many areas of cancer research.
  • CHTN obtains tissues from routine surgical resections and autopsies.
  • Remnant body fluids are available on some patients and limited histological services (e.g., frozen sections) can be obtained by special arrangement.
  • Normal tissues available from surgical resections include, but are not limited to, skeletal muscle, skin, bone, cartilage, connective tissue, breast, small and large intestine, and lung.
  • CHTN is not a tissue bank; specimens are collected prospectively according to researchers' specifications.
