    The application deadline for the Herbert S. Garten Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LSC LRAP) is February 25, 2013.

    Through the program, LSC makes a limited number of forgivable loans to help attorneys employed by its grantee programs repay law school debt. Attorneys selected to participate in LSC’s LRAP may receive loans of up to $5,600 per year, for up to three years, provided they remain eligible and funding is available.

    • D-3 forms (Actual Support and Revenue)
    • E-0 (Actual Office Information)
    • E-1 forms (Actual Staffing)
    • L (Other Services Narrative)
    • M (Community Legal Education)

    In accordance with LSC’s multi-year funding policy, grant applications for calendar year 2014 funding will be accepted only for specified service areas. 

    LSC plans to publish the list of service areas in competition for 2014 grant awards on the Where We Fund page and in the Federal Register on or around April 1, 2013.

    LSC plans to publish the Request for Proposals (RFP) and the Notice of Intent to Compete (NIC) application forms during the week of April 8, 2013. The Request for Proposals provides the complete instructions for applying for LSC Legal Aid Grants and will be available on the Application Documents page. In order to submit a grant proposal, all applicants must first submit a NIC. The NIC is completed through the online application system, and is due by May 10, 2013. All applicants are encouraged to learn more about LSC's Legal Aid Grants before beginning a grant application.

    LSC plans to publish the application forms for the Standard Grant Renewal during the week of April 8, 2013. The Standard Grant Renewal is for current grantees with service areas in renewal that have not had an LSC program quality visit (PQV) since January 1, 2011. The grant renewal is submitted through the online application system.

    The Notice of Intent to Compete (NIC) is due May 10, 2013. 

    In order to submit a grant proposal, all applicants must first submit a Notice of Intent to Compete (NIC). The NIC is completed through the online application system.

    LSC will post the list of applicants that filed a Notice of Intent to Compete (NIC) on or around May 13, 2013. The posting will be available on the Notices page.

    LSC plans to publish the Post-PQV grant application and grant renewal on May 17, 2013, for Schedule B applicants only. It will be due June 17, 2013. The Post-PQV Schedule B application and renewal is for applicants that have had a PQV since January 1, 2011; will have received a final PQV report by April 30, 2013; and are the only applicant for the service area.

This free online conference is designed to provide an understanding of the information needed to prepare the grant application. The AIS is for applicants that have not had an LSC program quality visit (PQV) since January 1, 2011, and for new applicants.

    Registration for the AIS begins April 2013.

    The LSC Certification Form will be due during the month of August. LSC will notify applicants of the specific date once that information is available. 

    The Certification Form is used to certify compliance with the Grant Assurances and other requirements, and is required for all applicants for 2014 funding. The Certification Form must be returned to LSC using the online application system.
