About Geospatial Partnerships

The National Geospatial Program partnership network cultivates and maintains long-term relationships with partners and develops agreements for The National Map, Geospatial One Stop, National Atlas and other initiatives that advance the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) and support USGS science. Partnerships are the foundation of the National Geospatial Program because they leverage funding across organizations to provide significant cost savings, reduce redundancy in geospatial data acquisition and stewardship, and ensure availability of common base data to a broad range of users and applications. USGS Geospatial Liaisons have been established for each State to engage and support State, local, Tribal, regional, Federal and other partners in improving currentness, quality and accessibility of geospatial data for the community, The National Map and the NSDI.
