CRN Publications Committee

The Publications Committee includes the CRN PI, the NCI Program Officer, senior and junior investigators. The Publications Committee reviews every CRN manuscript prior to submission to ensure accuracy and scientific integrity, and to provide editorial comments. The Committee also plays an important role in protecting the identity of health plans in published data and ensuring accurate citation of CRN's mission and funding. Please e-mail your CRN-funded or CRN-related manuscript to the CRN PI Office, who will share the manuscript with the Committee for review. The Publications Committee will return reviews to authors in approximately two weeks.

Sample CRN Description for Use in CRN Manuscripts

This document is provided to serve as a common resource for CRN authors seeking accurate information for their manuscript methods sections and to ensure correct and consistent naming of the member health plans and research organizations.

Though the publications committee recommends use of a common terminology to describe the CRN, there are inevitable adaptations that will be appropriate for particular papers. We hope that this resource provides the background for those adaptations.

Despite the need for consistent information there also are some questions about copyright restrictions. It will be important to check with your journal if you use exact copies of wording from published manuscripts that include summary descriptions of the CRN.
