For Researchers, a Resource
The NCCCP is exploring ways that community hospital cancer centers can support basic, clinical and population-based cancer research initiatives.
Among NCCCP research-based initiatives:
-
The NCCCP is developing an oncology-specific electronic health record providing researchers access to valuable data on cancer, while maintaining patients’ anonymity.
-
The 21 NCCCP cancer centers serve as a resource to the nation’s nearly 1,400 accredited community hospital cancer centers. The sites provide researchers with a broad and diverse group of patients for quality improvement studies, to accrue to clinical trials, and from whom to collect blood and tissue samples.
