Antoinette Percy-Laurry
Professional Biography and/or Interests
Ms. Percy-Laurry is a public health analyst in the Data Analysis and Interpretation Branch (DAIB) of the Surveillance Research Program. She has served on the data quality improvement team for the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End ResultsExternal Web Site Policy (SEER) Program since December 2004. Ms. Percy-Laurry has also served as Chair of the State Cancer Profiles committee since 2008, and manages their web site, which presents national, state and county level data from the NCI and the CDC.
In 2008, Ms. Percy-Laurry was commissioned into the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps as a Health Services Officer. From 2009-2010, she served as Chair of the DCCPS Health Disparities Interest Group Seminar Series, where she provided leadership to address cancer-related disparities. In her current position at SRP, she facilitates projects that lead to the development and dissemination of surveillance data across different programs and agencies. She also assists with the development and publication of technical manuals used by cancer registry professionals.
Ms. Percy-Laurry received a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a specialization in health behavior, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Oakwood College. Prior to joining NCI SEER, Ms. Percy-Laurry contributed to field studies and clinical trials such as the Women's Health Initiative Program and the Prostate, Lung Colo/Rectal and Ovarian cancer screening.
Ms. Percy-Laurry is currently working on her DrPH in Epidemiology at Morgan State University.
