TITLE OF Clinical Rotation: Doctor of Physical Therapy & Physical Therapy Assistant
DEPARTMENT
: Orthopedics & Rehabilitation
NUMBER OF STUDENTS ROTATING ON SERVICE AT ONCE: 2-3 Master Level or Doctor level Physical Therapy students; 1-2 Physical Therapy Assistant Students
LENGTH OF ROTATION: Variable and determined by student’s academic program but typically between 2 and 9 months.
Type/LEVEL OF STUDENTS ACCEPTED: Master’s or Doctoral students first, second or third years.
TIME OF YEAR OFFERED: Flexible start dates

Requirements:

         1. A signed affiliation agreement must be completed
         2. Approval from the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education,
             PT, MS, OCS, CCCE at 910-907-7155.

OBJECTIVES/DESCRIPTION OF CLERKSHIP:

The Physical Therapy (PT) clinical affiliation is geared toward the goal of having students perform excellent out-patient orthopedic evaluations. Students will be expected to learn and practice evidence-based medicine for evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and treatment plans for conservative neuromusculoskeletal injuries and post-operative cases.

The Physical Therapy Assistant clinical affiliation is geared toward the goal of having students successfully execute, assess response and modify as necessary treatment plans as established by the physical therapist.
