CLINIC MISSION: 

The Optometry Service provides primary eye health care during the hours of 0730 to 1630 at five separate locations (WAMC, CHC, JHC, PHC, RHC). Appointments for optometry clinics will be scheduled through the Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) Specialty Referrals at 907-6347 and the respective outlying clinic appointment lines, CHC 907-2575/9597, JHC 907-5635 option 2, PHC 507-3209, option 4, and RHC 907-9510

ELIGIBILITY:

Patients eligible for appointments in the Optometry Service:

  • All Active Duty and Active Duty TRICARE Prime patients (MTF or network).
  • Currently seeing AD Family Members 5 years and older
  • Limited access for TRICARE Prime Retirees and Retiree Family Members (see retinopathy clinic under Clinic Services)
  • TRICARE eligible patients enrolled in another MTF who are TDY or traveling needing acute care

 Patient care on a Space Availability basis only for appointments in the Optometry Service:

  • TRICARE Standard patients
  • Non-TRICARE enrolled family members

CLINIC SERVICES AVAILABLE:

  • Routine Eye Exams
  • Order Military Eyewear
  • Exams for Military Physicals (walk in hours: 0730-0930 @ WAMC,CHC, JHC; 0730-1030 @ RHC; 0800-1130 @ PHC)
  • Evaluations for Refractive Surgery
  • Acute Care:
    • New Patients: Referred by PCM to appropriate optometry clinic, same day access available
    • Established Patients: Report to optometry clinic where routine care is received
  • Diabetic Eye Exams (need referral submitted from PCM)
  • Contact Lens Services (contact lens updates, medical contact lens fitting, limited new fits)
