The American Psychological Association (APA) provides accreditation to qualified psychology doctoral programs, internships, and post-doctoral residency programs. Clinical training programs accredited by the APA meet specific standards for quality that include performance on variables such as student-faculty ratio, faculty credentials, supervision of students, didactic opportunities, financial stability, capacity to offer services, etc.
